Please Pray for this Family

An officer was injured on Kyle's shift last night. He is married and has a 7 month old baby. Click Here to read the story. Phil (Kyle's Dad) was interviewed by the local news. Here is a link to the video (it is in the middle of the screen and will appear after a short commercial clip):

Happy Anniversary to Us!

I can't believe we have been married for 5 years, already! We don't really have plans for today. My parents took us out for Mexican food earlier and it was really good. We will probably try to see the movie Marley and Me New Year's Eve. We might order take out and rent a movie tonight, I could really use some down-time.

Happy Anniversary, Kyle. I'm looking forward to many more years together. Love you!!!

Let's Go Fly a Kite!

Papa Caraway, Sheila, Haleigh and Devin came to visit yesterday. It has been so windy here the past couple of days, so Papa decided to buy a kite. The girls had lots of fun watching Devin fly the kite. It didn't last too long though because Haleigh let it fly right into a tree! Oh well, it was fun while it lasted. Then Keri decided to show off her new bike riding skills and practice some baseball. Keri asked yesterday if she could go home with them, so we packed her bags this afternoon and she headed off to Cisco for the week. She will love getting some one-on-one attention for a while. It will probably make things a little easier for us next week. I love when my parents come for a visit, we always have a great time and the girls love spending time with them. Here are a few pictures taken with the NEW camera.

Christmas

Christmas went really well. The girls were excited to see what Santa brought them. We opened presents at home then headed to Grandma and Papa Sanford's house for more presents and Christmas dinner. Aunt Kelly and Uncle Chip were there with us, too. Dinner was wonderful and the day was relaxing and low-key. Kyle had to go to work at 6:00 that night, so I took the girls home and we watched Mickey's Christmas Carol together. All in all, it was a good Christmas.

Wow, look what Santa brought:

Oh, and I got a new camera for Christmas!!! Thank you, Kyle!

Sad News

We found out this afternoon that we lost the baby. I was supposed to be 13 weeks pregnant today. The baby measured much smaller and there was no heartbeat. My body is not showing any signs of having a natural miscarriage, so we have scheduled a surgical D & C for Tuesday. It has been a lot to take in, especially 2 days before Christmas. We are very strong spiritually and know that God has a plan for us and our family. It will take a while for me to recover emotionally, but I know that we have been very blessed. I thank God now more than ever for our 2 beautiful, healthy girls.

Our Christmas festivities will continue as scheduled. I want to focus on making this Christmas special for Keri and Kendal. I might break out in tears a few times a day, but I am determined to keep our life as normal as we can through this for them.

Family Party

We had family over this afternoon to celebrate Kendal's birthday. She seemed a little overwhelmed having everyone over at the same time, but really enjoyed all the company.

She will have cake will all her friends at daycare tomorrow on her real birthday. I have always worried that we would not be able to focus on her birthday because of Christmas being so close, but think we have done a great job celebrating this year. It has definitely been easier than I thought (I wonder how that will change when she gets older and more expensive?!). Thanks to everyone who came and celebrated with us!

Playhouse Disney

Well, we survived the busy week......though there is still much more to come. Kendal ended up getting pretty sick on Tuesday and is still recovering. She had hand, foot, and mouth disease (thanks to another little girl at daycare :)) but it has already cleared up. The main concern is that she has couup again and is on breathing treatments. Kendal gets croup a lot so we are very familiar with the treatment plan. I stayed home with her on Tuesday and half of Wednesday, then Kyle was home with her Wednesday afternoon and all day Thursday. She was feeling much better by Friday, so we went ahead and took the girls to Playhouse Disney Live! (Sorry about the photo quality, I put a new camera on my Christmas list.) Check out Kendal's crazy hair!

They had so much fun dancing and singing. I think it was a great early birthday present for Kendal!

Busy Week

There are so many things going on this week! The girls' daycare Christmas parties and book exchange are on Wednesday; we have a teacher luncheon on Thursday, and Pajama Day on Friday. I am most excited about taking Keri and Kendal to the Playhouse Disney Live! show Friday afternoon. It will be an early birthday present for Kendal. I just know they are going to LOVE it!

We will have Kendal's birthday party on Sunday after church. We will have family over for hamburgers, hot dogs, and cake. She is going to love spending time with everyone. I can't believe my baby will be 2 years old on Monday. Time really does go by too fast.

Fall School Pictures

Here are the girls' fall pictures. I thought they turned out pretty good. Kendal's hair was kind of nuts. I'm still trying to learn how to tame it. :) The first two are my favorites. You can tell that Kendal is saying "Cheese!" in the last picture.
